‘Another year’s over, a new one just begun’. Although most people relate New Year with new resolutions, in my case, the real New Year starts, from my psychological point of view, in September (as the new Academic Year gets started).Now that Christmas has practically gone, and I can strongly confirm than the older I am, the more I hate Xmas. Why do we eat so much throughout these days? Why are we supposed to be suddenly happy and empathetic with others? Bah, it really disgusts me: what a non-sense and hypocritical tradition. Instead of Christmas Holidays, they may be called “Winter Holidays”, just like summer’s. From this ‘neutral’ treatment, religious people would be free to add their personal and additional holy strikes; this way, nobody would feel forced or dragged by Catholic and twaddle roots.
Anyway, at least we, teachers, have a couple of weeks off, which nowadays are worth their weight in gold!
Once more, drown by crowd, I feel in the need of wishing you, whoever you are, all the best for this 2009.
